Refund Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
This policy explains how trials, cancellations and refunds work for BookReef paid plans. Questions: [email protected].
Who you buy from
Paid BookReef subscriptions are sold through Polar, our merchant of record. Polar handles the payment, invoicing and applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax), and the charge on your statement may appear as Polar. Any refund is issued through Polar to your original payment method.
Try before you pay
Every new account starts with a free trial of the Pro plan, and BookReef has a permanent Free tier, so you can evaluate everything the product does before any money changes hands. Because of this, purchases are treated as deliberate decisions and, except as set out below, payments are not refundable.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from the billing page in one click. Cancelling stops future charges; your paid features stay active until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account moves to the Free tier — your public page stays live. We do not provide refunds or credits for partially used billing periods.
Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. To avoid an unwanted renewal, cancel before your renewal date — the date is always visible on your billing page. Renewal charges are not refundable.
Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on your first purchase of a subscription. By purchasing, you request immediate access to the service; if you withdraw within those 14 days, we refund the amount paid less a proportional charge for the days of service already provided. To withdraw, email [email protected] within 14 days of the purchase.
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you have under the law of your country of residence, including remedies for a service that is faulty or not as described.
Chargebacks and abuse
If something went wrong with a charge, contact us first — it is faster than a card dispute, and our merchant of record may also proactively refund a charge to resolve a payment problem. We reserve the right to decline discretionary refunds and to suspend accounts in cases of abuse, such as repeated purchase-and-refund cycles, chargeback misuse, or breaches of our Terms of Service.
